Berrett-Koehler Selects Winners of Self-Publishing Contest
Grand Prize: Free Open Book Editions “Focus” Package at Stake
After a month of deliberating, the Berrett-Koehler editorial board has finalized the winners of the Open Book Editions contest that ran in June 2012 through the self-publishing partner, iUniverse.
Congratulations to Linda Noble Topf for placing first and Scott C. Hammond for second place! It was a tough decision to make as all entries were awesome, but Linda and Scott’s proposals aligned most closely with the Berrett-Koehler mission to “create a world that works for all.”
As the grand prize winner, Linda receives a full “Focus” publishing package from Open Book Editors. Scott receives 50% off the same package. All top ten finalists receive 20% off their next purchase of a Focus package.
Linda’s book proposal was for the title Wheelchair Wisdom: Awaken Your Spirit Through Adversity.
Scott’s book proposal was for Lesson of the Lost: Way in Work, Life, and the Wilderness.
Publication dates for both titles have yet to be announced.
“Berrett-Koehler was pleased to collaborate with iUniverse on this contest, which has been a fun and exciting opportunity to grow the Open Book Editions portfolio of authors, says Johanna Vondeling, VP of Business Development at Berrett-Koehler. “We congratulate the winners and welcome them to the Berrett-Koehler community."
Talks in the Berrett-Koehler office halls is that this may become an annual event. Stay tuned!
