Steve Piersanti to Keynote IBPA Publishing University

San Francisco Conference to Feature Total of Four Berrett-Koehler Employees on Various Panels

Publishing University, the annual publishing conference organized by the Independent Book Publishers Association, will be opening with a keynote by Berrett-Koehler Publishers president and founder Steve Piersanti. The conference will be held in San Francisco March 9-10.

Piersanti will be talking about the notorious ten awful truths about book publishing - but also how publishers can respond to them in order to prosper and survive in an increasingly challenging marketplace.

In addition, three other Berrett-Koehler employees will be speaking on panels.

  • Cynthia Shannon will be speaking at the 1:15 pm panel on Friday “E-Magination: What’s Now and What’s Next in Social Media - How Publishers Can Profit”
  • Maria Jesus Aguilo will be speaking at the 4:45 pm session on Friday “Have Content, Will Travel - Maximizing Foreign and Subsidiary Rights”
  • David Marshall will be speaking at the 3:15 pm session on Saturday “Positioning Your Digital Strategy for Maximum Profits”

The focus of this years’ conference is about how content is king, and how print, electronic, and online strategies help new and growing publishers boost the bottom line.
