I’m 46 years old. My son is 11 (6th grade). This past Friday my son awakened at 5:00 in the morning. I asked him why he was up so early especially given he had gone to bed late due to having to complete homework. He told me he got up so early in order to study for his exams in English that day.
Why do I share this about my son? Well, I did not really feel like running on Friday. My legs and mind felt like mush. I had run a lot of miles this past week and just really did not have the desire to go running. Then, I thought of my son who pushed himself to get up early this day to study. I told myself if my 11 year old son can push himself, so can I.
I got on the treadmill and amazingly started to feel great. 16 miles later, I was thanking my son Bryton for the inspiration. If it wasn’t for him, I would not have run today and not have pushed myself. Where is your inspiration today to push yourself? Perhaps it’s right under your nose or under your roof?
Ignore the critics. Live your dreams!
