    Words That Don't Mean What You Think They Mean: EVOKE vs. INVOKE

    To evoke is to call to mind; a certain smell may evoke a long-lost memory. To invoke is to call upon some thing.

    So hopefully your cooking evokes memories of mom's kitchen. But if tit doesn't, you might consider invoking the kitchen gods for help.
