I was lucky to find what I wanted to do early in my career. From early graduate school days I wanted to work with people who work in large corporations. They always seem very capable, even though a bit stressed. I help them develop exceptional communication abilities that enable them to achieve whatever they want, no matter how far-reaching their goals are.

I also help companies take their employee training to world class levels.

I’ve had the good luck of working with some of the best corporations in the world since 1978 (30 countries so far). I started Effective Training Solutions in 1983.

I continue to be amazed at the power of extraordinary communication. I receive emails from students every day, some I met 30 years ago, some 3 days ago. I love when they astonish even themselves with what they are able to accomplish with their new communication and presentation skills.

For example this email recently received from a client who gave his first presentation to his CEO (the company has almost 100,000 employees): "I’d like to say I killed it — and I did :) Seriously, everything went great. I felt like I owned the world. Thank you for that, Ingrid :)  Best, R.R."

Students have as many wins at home as they do at work.  More than one student has spoken with tears of joy about turning a relationship with a son or daughter around. Often success at home means even more to them than success at work.

I’ve also trained many corporate trainers, given them tools that helped them achieve remarkable results and significant financial ROI. One of my clients and I were featured in a cover article in Training Magazine for increasing annual revenue by $360 million!

I’m a past President of the Silicon Valley chapter of the International Society for Performance Improvement. Additionally I have a case study featured in the best-selling book Evaluating Training Programs: The Four Levels, by Donald Kirkpatrick, the most often cited authority on evaluating training programs.
