Suchitra Shenoy grew up on bedtime stories steeped in science and a vivid moral imagination. The robots were always good. Intermittently, she was whisked to Indian villages. There, the stories were quite different. Not surprisingly, she was drawn to work in the social sector.

 Suchitra is the co-author, with Pavithra Mehta, of Infinite Vision: How Aravind Became the World’s Largest Business Case for Compassion, a book on the Aravind Eye Care System. Infinite Vision was among Amazon’s Top 40 Management Books and a finalist for the George Terry Award conferred by the Academy of Management in the United States. It has been translated into Japanese and Portuguese.

 A founding member of the Inclusive Markets team at the Monitor Group, an international consulting firm, Suchitra examined market-based solutions to poverty. Her work has encompassed health care, housing, education, agriculture, and financial services. She is on the advisory board of the Youth 4 Jobs Foundation, which motivates, trains and places disabled, impoverished young people in jobs thus creating inclusive workplaces.

 Among other publications, Suchitra’s writing has appeared online in Knowledge@Wharton and the Stanford Social Innovation Review. She has been an invited speaker at Stanford University, the Columbia Business School, the Harvard School of Public Health and other venues. She has degrees from Brandeis University and the London School of Economics.
